Hello from a bird lover

Hi,
I just joined a few days ago but have really enjoyed this pet forum. It's nice to share some of the comical, and also the sad stories of our loved pets.
I feel as if I perhaps shouldn't mention that I have a parrot, rather than a dog or cat!! He hasn't been around a dog, but he does get along well with my son's cat when he visits! ha ha He talks up a storm too (the bird, not the cat). I can't imagine how sad it shall be when the times come that his time with us comes to an end as he's SUCH a part of our lives. Yes, these little four, and in this case TWO legs animals do indeed bring some joy in our painful days.

One of my first pets was a budgie, too! :) She was the most gorgeous blue, black and white... really friendly too! Her name was Elenor, and she had a mate, Mike (they layed a few eggs together, but she never brooded...).

Welcome!! I love animals too! :heartthrob:

Hey Corkybird!:)
I'm new on here AND a bird lover too! Your parrot is gorgeous!
I have a cocky little lovebird called Beanie..who is, at 12, such a comedian that I've made two videos of him!
They're linked here on YouTube. Enjoy the silliness!

Hi corky bird..we had a cockateal (sp?) for awhile and he was a lot of fun too. Our daughter took him and enjoyed him until he died.

Msbee...I loved your utubes! :D

Notice how the pets tend to become more attached to one person than another? Corky parrot is a "Daddy's bird" for sure. If he's on my husband's shoulder and I simply put my hand on my husband...Corky darts across to try and nip my fingers.

Now the latest is, whenever my husband leaves for work in the afternoon (he works 4-midnite), Corky goes in his cage (we leave his door open during the daytime) and sits there on his perch with his back to me..almost like he's pouting since Daddy isn't around!!! Bird really knows how to make me feel loved! ha ha

LOL! Pets are so funny that way, aren't they? My daughter and son-in-law have a mini dachsund. He often comes to town to stay at my folk's house when the kids go to work. So, Otto is VERY fond of my mom. When he's sitting on her lap, if you go anywhere near her he jumps up growling and then starts barking. :D

I had a ball watching those bird videos. I loved Corky's exercise routine on the fan!

I also saw a video of someone's bird bathing under the faucet. A friend of mine in Oregon has 2 lovebirds, and every morning he uncovers their cage, lets them out, and they head straight for the sink for their morning bath! LOL!
