Is is safe to take geodon with zyprexa?

I know that you guys are not medical professionals but....Is it safe to take geodon with zyprexa?
I tried researching it and found a post about doubling the side effects risks so that means more of a chance to getting TD.

I am afraid to take both....even though my pdoc said to take them both.
I am on day 5 of zyprexa 15mg and cold turkey off of geodon day 4.

Call the pharmacist.

This is what I came up with on line:
Geodon and Zyprexa Zydis Drug Interactions - Drugs.com

I still have a surreal feeling. It may be from the zyprexa????
Having mental fog too.
bizi thanks mari.

It could be the Zyprexa. Call the pharmacist -- seriously. You do not
have to do this by yourself.

I just spoke with the pharmacist who said that it was contraindicated to take both together. Thanks mari for encouraging me to check with her.
She said she would call the doctors office and leave them a message.

Did the pharmacist say that there was a drug interaction?
There is a possibility she could have meant that it was contraindicated because taking the two together could enhance a side effect such as sedation...

I hope everything turns out okay, Bizi :hug::hug:

This link explains long QT syndrome and on page 2 is
a chart showing the atypical antipsychotics and their relative risk of causing this.

Pdocs do not like to prescribe more than one atypical antipsychotic for that reason, but they will under special circumstances, usually on a temporary basis.
