Video clip of a girl with RSD- did anyone see this one on Discovery Health??

It's pretty good, except when they say that "people with certain personality traits get it"... http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n...h_RsdVIDEO.jpg

Hi IHH,

That was a very good video but it ended funny. It didn't finish her story.

He said that high acheivers get RSD. I think that's about the same as Type A personalities and that's what we have talked about here many times. A lot of us are Type A personalities.

I don't understand though why it would hit people more with Type A personalities. Unless we push ourselves so hard we end up doing things to fast and then end up injured. I know I have always been a fast past mover and thought I could do anything when this happened to me. After all of my surgeries, I actually got to the point to where I thought I could go back to work and then I fell several times and injured myself on meds for my back.

I don't know if this makes sense but it kind of does to me.

Thanks for all of the good things you put on here for us.

Type A personalities - normal people would give in to pain where as type A's keep on pushing and so make themselves far worse in the process - most people hurt and stop, we don't and then suddenly the poor body falls to pieces! often linked with worse RSD = type A. I know Zoe, she had HBOT and is now at medical school, walking and with minimal pain - only at about a 4. She is doing brilliantly.

Hi Frogga,

Thanks for the update. That is good to know that HBOT has helped someone with RSD. I know several around here that tried it and had no good luck.
Different things work for different people though. We just have to keep looking for what works for each one.

Thank you Ness for sharing! I hated the fact where they said; "to add insult to injury the Dr.'s thought she was faking it"?? what, with all the swelling, crying!! that part made me ill! Love, Desi

what a sad but interesting clip. thanks for sharing.
i had read that people under stress, or people with PTSD, are more likely to get rsd simply because their bodies are already in a heightened state of stress. that makes sense to me because our nervous system is already overstressed and so the trauma, whatever it is, puts the system over the edge. joan

is there a ending?

hi everyone,
that video was so sad. No one has ever told me about the type a theory. since I've always had a problem with my legs (since birth) my parents had always pushed me to do better and more than anyone else. I've always worked hard at my jobs, sometimes working 2 jobs 7 days a week. I don't work anymore, I just couldn't do it. I have a big problem with not working. Its been 2 years and Iam going crazy. Thanks for the info.
