Hi ketoy,

I'm sorry to hear that your grandson is having seizures. Take my word Keppra can give people a hot temper. I was on it for about 1 month and got off the drug it was so bad.
Years ago when I started to have seizures my e.e.g. came back with just one area showing scar tissue on the brain but yrs. later the found damage deep in my brain when I had surgery that not a single test could show and this could be what's going on with your grandson. Also depending on his age if he's starting to grow up and go through puberty that will often trigger seizures for some people that have epilepsy because the hormones are changing.
If there's a bright light in his mom's house or sometimes if a person lives in a higher elevation that can trigger seizures for some people. Also a low pressure in the weather can trigger seizures for some people.
My advice to you is to have your grandsons family Dr. refer him to see a Epileptologist which is a Dr. that specializes in epilepsy. These Drs. will pinpoint the cause of the seizures and get him on the correct med.
Tell his mom to keep a record of his seizures. Write down on a calendar what time he has any seizures and the type of seizure he has this will help the Dr. see if he is having a pattern in his seizures like what time of day/night or what days of the month he has them. Also keep your grandson away from NutraSweet and cut him back on the carbs and starch foods. I have found taking vitamin B12 once a day a big help reducing the seizures. I wish you and your grandson only the best of luck and May God Bless All of You!
