Concussion or no?

So here's my history with concussions:

I had one in 2015 and then on end about 6 months later in 2016. Then after the concussion symptoms were all gone in 2016, I hit my head lightly and the symptoms a concussion surfaced for a long time. Since I had been to a neurologist I waited to go to to one and just wanted to rest out the symptoms. I finally go to one and he said that I don't have a concussion. I am experiencing symptoms because of my high anxiety, and me thinking that I have a concussion and being anxious about out it is manifesting the symptoms for a concussion. After that, the next day it was gone.

So a few days ago i hit my head lightly ( not too lightly but not hard) and the symptoms i am feeling are tiredness, small headache, irritability, anxiety, and a little depression. Mainly emotional feelings and tiredness. Do you think I have a concussion or is it just my anxiety manifesting these symptoms? Btw I have continuous high anxiety. Thanks!

The neurologist told you right. You are very fortunate to have found a neurologist who understands these issues. He explained it just right.

Your anxiety will continue to make your life miserable in this way until get help with your anxiety. It may take some nutritional therapy, medications and psycho therapy.

Concussions and anxiety are a serious catch-22. Concussions can increase anxiety, anxiety can make concussion symptoms much worse, anxiety can slow recovery from concussions, and anxiety can mimic concussions from minor or even imagined head contacts.

To start, I suggest you read the Vitamins sticky. B-12, D-3, folic acid and the others can help the brain better tolerate daily stress.

123,

I bet your neuro is correct.

There is a pretty dang strong sense of self preservation when the head is involved and it is very easy to spiral down the path where "anxiety takes over and gives us a concussion".

I have concluded that anxiety is 2 pronged in relation to pcs..there is anxiety medically as a direct result of pcs and anxiety that we allow from experiencing pcs.

I think you can learn to identify the difference and do not allow the anxiety we produce ourselves to run over you.

Hope this makes some sense to you.

Bud
