Neuropathy after Tetanus vacciene

Has anyone heard of getting neuropathy form a tetanus vaccine?

I was immunised against tetanus in NZ as a child/teenager and it is also routine here. The active ingredient in the vaccine (tetanus toxoid) is very immunogenic which means that it causes long-lasting immunity against Clostridium tetani infection which can lead to sometimes fatal tetanus.

I can't find any evidence that this vaccination can lead to neuropathy - it might happen but, if so, it is very rare. A PubMed search (tetanus + neuropathy + vaccination) retrieved 13 papers, none of which are relevant.

These links might help in this context.

This site does list neuropathy following tetanus vaccine.

But it is not common.

All vaccines do seem to have a potential for causing autoimmune reactions, mostly in those who are predisposed genetically and having certain markers present to stimulate the immune system.

The rabies vaccine and the withdrawn Lyme vaccine remain the worst causing nerve or joint problems.

We had a moderator here several years ago who had trouble with tetanus vaccine, I seem to recall. She no longer posts here anymore. I don't recall any others however.
