Mobic for stiffness from RSD

I have had RSD for 8 yrs. In my right hand and arm. The stiffness in my fingers is almost unbearable at times.
My doctor has given me Mobic to take with all the other drugs I now take to control pain.
Has anyone ever tried Mobic for stiffness caused by RSD ? She mentioned blood test every couple months to check my liver and kidney functions. I don't want to start having other issues if I take this drug.

Best,
Ted

Ted,
Welcome! Could you please tell us more of your medical history? What supplements, medicines, etc have you tried?

I would not take this drug, because the possible side effects far out weigh the benefits. I saw this scenario multiple times with Warfarin usage in my friends and family. For me it was NSAIDs that did nothing to cure the CRPS inflammation, but they sure did damage my stomach within weeks of taking the supposedly safe "low" dosages. I am suffering right now with pain and distress years later from that foolish advice. Natural Pain Killers: NSAID Alternatives << Wildly Successful

Mobic is an anti-inflammatory. Try and Google it some.

It isn't a "cure" or something that is normally given for RSD, but it might alleviate other symptoms that go along with the disease.

I have had it, and other anti-inflammatories, for quite a while for my knees (since I started off the RSD with a dashboard injury).

When in doubt, ask your doc!

Welcome Ted! I have never been prescribed Mobic but hope it helps ease your pain. I am prescribed gabapentin and pain meds. Hugs to you.

I have been given Mobic by almost every doctor I've seen for RSD...or the generic for it anyway. I have never noticed it making much, if any, difference. I do not seem to get much relief from meds though so I can't say if it's just me or not. I've had some bad side effects from meds...but honestly this has never been one that I had an issue with. I am not currently taking it because I wasn't getting much relief from the meds and I cannot afford them right now...so instead I just use the Lidoderm patches because of all the prescriptions that is the most useful to me (especially with flare ups).
