Did I tell you guys?
I am approved for SSDI! I thought I'd get denied and then have to appeal. But I followed the advice I found on here and also from a friend who used to work as an evaluator. I DROWNED them in paperwork. Helps that I'm on worker's comp because I had all their evaluations, scans, xrays, etc. And then I had their IME, which was very thoroughly written up (and included many pages about the nature of RSD/CRPS at the end of it) about my current situation, pain levels, functioning levels etc.
I'm sure it helped that I did terribly at their mental health appointment they sent me to. Anyway, at least I'm going to get a little financial boost. I can't get the full amount I'm entitled to because I'm getting worker's comp. Which is fine, because worker's comp pays more than SSDI will. But I get the back pay from 5 months after the date of disability till now, which was Oct 2015. |
That is fantastic news! It's one less stressful thing on your plate and that is really a wonderful thing. I wish so much that none of is NEEDED disability...that we were well enough to continue working and living our lives as before...but I am glad that those who do need it can still succeed in getting what they need. It gives me hope that it will work out for me eventually.

Becca,
That IS fantastic news. I'm so glad you'll have that stress off of you, can put it aside and have the additional benefits. What a relief! :) |
I know zilch about how the US system works, but I do know that that is good news.
Great! :) |
