I am an adult with A.D.H.D.and I was wondering if there was a way to get a animal to help me become stronger and not soo stressed out and to keep me company through my day? I wish that I could get one to help me cope with my bad days. I have many times thought of death because I don't get appreciated by people and animals are my stress relievers... Can anyone help me? Please?!!!!!

Welcome to NeuroTalk puppyluver. Dogs are wonderful creatures but puppies are a lot of work...housebreaking them..etc. Would you consider getting a rescue dog....like you, they are in need of love and attention so it might be a win win situation for you both!

hi

welcome to neurotalk. glad you're here!

there is a service dog sub-forum under the 'our pets' forum which might interest you. you can absolutely get a dog to help you. i think that is a wonderful idea.

dogs are here to teach us about love. unconditional love. and so much more. they are so other-directed, too - probably the only creature on earth who will love you more than he loves himself (or herself, as the case may be...)

i say go for it!

good luck

wish i knew how to post that link for you but maybe someone else will come along who can help with that...:)
