New Guy here with some questions

Back in November I sustained a motorcycle accident that required shoulder surgery.
I am now just able to ride again and the first time i rode I experienced the following symptoms
1) Nausea
2) Feeling of detachment -- IE the bike was doing stuff but I was not controlling it
3) Head Fog -- It feels like I was looking through a dirty windshield in a car.

I have had some anxiety and panic attacks since the surgery in December and here are my symptoms every day
1) Morning Sweats -- Every day just as I am waking up I start sweating even before I get fully awake.
2) Morning Nausea -- 10 minutes to 2 hours
3) Varying degrees of axiety throughout the day

I went to see Micky at UPMC this week and he said i have PCS and gave me some PT to do. My question for the group is...

Are my morning symptoms normal? I understand that I am going to get the symptoms if i excercise too much, but the morning stuff is killing me...

Any suggestions for the morning stuff?

Critter,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

It sounds like you are having struggles with anxiety. Maybe the visual of riding was too much stimulation.

Did you get any medical diagnostics at UPMC ? Micky is a PhD not an MD. What PT did he prescribe ?

You may have a thyroid or other hormone issue causing your sweating. How do you know the sweating is not starting while you are asleep ? Do you wake up but snooze/doze and the sweating starts ? Have you tried just getting up as son as you wake ?

Do you have a neck injury ? A shoulder injury and concussion suggests a substantial trauma to your neck. Cervical inflammation can disrupt blood flow to the autonomic nervous system and cause disregulation. Various sleep postures can magnify neck inflammation.

All hormone levels have been checked are are fine, I get the same feelings except for the detachement, when working out hard.

They gave me some vestibular excersizes and some physical stuff with TRX like jumping around and doing some running.

Yes today I woke up little then kind of dozed off again and then the seating started.

We have not checked for any neck injury

Some people have some of these symptoms from the anesthesia from surgery, especially if they used Versed. It can take me a year to fully recover from Versed.

Have you ever checked your blood pressure when you have some of these symptoms ?

The subtle neck injury common to many concussions does not show in most imaging. It can sometimes be diagnosed by range of motion and crepitus but more commonly by being disciplined to sleep with good/straight head and neck posture and reaping the benefits. Some gentle traction and mobilization by a PT can help. For me, my neck was fine except when I slept. Then, it caused some serious struggles.

No have not checked my blood pressure. I do not have much neck trouble and Ann checked my ROM in my neck while i was there.
My concern is my symptoms seen to be getting worse. Not better

In my case, my only symptom of a neck issue was the struggles I had when I slept with poor posture. Stressful dreams, fatigue during the day, and some other symptoms that cleared up when I slept with good posture.
