#7 Apicoectomy and Teeth Extraction

5 Attachment(s)
Hello Bryanna,

There has been a very long history and significant issue with #7 that my wife had extracted (along with all upper front teeth) last year. This tooth had the first crown some time in the 1980s, a replacement crown and root canal 27 years ago, an apicoectomy 10 years ago and then an extraction last year. It appears from the attached x-rays and digital pictures that there was either significant spread of infection from this tooth across all top teeth or the crowns from #7 through #10 (all crowned at the same time 27 years ago) were badly cracked for many years. There was no bone left after these teeth were extracted last year and openings that appear to extend all the way to the sinus. After extraction, there was a debridement and bone grafting but the (more than one?) fistulas (openings) between the upper gum and lip were missed and this area has not healed. To repair this in the front upper gum/lip area so that all is closed up so healing can start, is this best handled by an oral max surgeon, periodontist, or other specialty? Thanks.
