RSD after a fracture?

Hello, I am a newby and really am pleased to be here, somewhere where people know what you are coping with.
I was diagnosed with RSD nearly 4 years ago after having a simple arthroscopy to my knee. I had some relief over the past six months and was happy even though my leg is still stiff but a drop in the pain level no matter how small is a great relief. Seven weeks ago I fell down the stairs and broke my arm, the plaster was removed but after an xray it seems it has not healed and I was woken early hours of this morning with severe pain and burning and swelling in the whole of my arm. I fear the rsd has hit again and am feeling very deflated. I cant even rest my arm against my side the pain is so intense. I go to the doctors tomorrow but am really scared the rsd is in my arm. Thanks for letting me whinge but I am scared. Luv Sulu

Hi Sulu, welcome to NT!

I can see why you are scared, but try to remain calm till you see the dr. There are other reasons you may be having these symptoms, and most of them are much better than rsd/crps. I'll pray for you.

Here's the link to the rsd forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21

I'm glad you found us... there's always room for another sufferer of rsd. You'll find plenty of emotional support, and lots of useful data too.

I'll see you there :) (I have it too, 14 years mainly in legs.)

Hi Sulu. Welcome to NeuroTalk. We have had so many people come here with RSD which I know absolutely nothing about. I'm going to have to go into the RSD forum and read up. It sounds very painful.

I've had both of my knees scoped, the last one in February. I've developed a lot of pain in that knee, don't know why because it was doing just fine. I need to go back to the doctor and see what's up.

I'm so sorry about your arm! You sound like me...a klutz. :o I fell down my daughter's stairs last November and fractured my tailbone. 2 months later, I fell over their babygate and ripped up my right knee. :o My son-in-law vowed to make sure his house insurance covered just me. :D

Again, welcome to this wonderful place. I hope you find the support as comforting as I do.
