Vitamin Question
Is a multivitamin necessary if I am already taking Vit. C, D, E, B-12, B complex, magnesium citrate, and fish oil?
It seems a lot of these are redundant in a multivitamin. Are there other things in the multivitamin that make it important to take? Thanks for your input. |

A multi is good at providing the trace elements, like zinc, selenium, etc.
Read the label of the multi and see if it provides things you are not getting otherwise. Some you can get by adding a specific vegetable to your diet. It appears you are not supplementing calcium. Consider whether you are getting enough in your diet. Women especially need to be calcium conscious. |
Thank you.
Regarding calcium... I read different things about it, and I get confused about what is recommended. Some things say it is necessary, some say it isn't. I'm a 35 year old woman. What do you think is recommended based on the research? I am currently taking 200 mg of mag. citrate 2x per day. |
Much of supplementing depends on individual diet/eating habits.
We do have a Vitamins, Nutrients, Herbs and Supplements forum.. https://www.neurotalk.org/forum49/ and Weight Loss & Healthy Living https://www.neurotalk.org/forum42/ both may help with finding overall nutrition/supplementing info.. |
