Hello,

I am married with two adult daughters living in Dallas.
On 10-02-17, enroute to a new job orientation, I was making a left turn on green arrow and was T-boned by a car that disregard Red light. The opposing car was traveling 50-55 mph stricken my car sent me into a 180 degree spin striking the car that was behind me. My car air bag deployed with force against my chest. I opted to attend orientation after the police finished their formalities. Please note that I have been two years unemployed and really wanted this warehouse job. After orientation, I was directed to report to work second shift (4:30p to 1:00a). It was a difficult 8 hours. I visited an ER Clinic after work due to my inability to sleep. I was told that my X-rays were negative and that my pain was due to muscles strain related to the accident. I could not sleep and was in extreme pain. The following day I contacted an personal injury attorney, who made arrangements for my medical issues to be addressed. After two and an half week of chiropractic treatment with no relief, I was referred to an MD. The MD wanted to do “Injections Therapy” on the base of my neck and the left upper area of my back.

I have found that my pain areas( head, neck,back, arm and shoulder) are consistent with TOS, but my doctor have failed to make references to this condition.

Please provide feedback about “Injections Therapy “ first-hand experiences or recent medical data related to this procedure?

I am sorry to read about your accident.

You could share your story in the TOS forum (https://www.neurotalk.org/forum24/) - members may be able to offer you suggestions and supoort there.

Maybe your signs reflect TBI/PCS in part - the forum for this (https://www.neurotalk.org/forum92/) is very active so talking about your problems there could be helpful for you.

Did the Dr mention they type of injections? botox, marcaine, etc?

Epidural Injection.

Those are steroids and the doctor should know the protocol about administering them. I've had one in knee that did nothing. They can work for a while and I've heard they don't work for some. Over use of steroids is not the best for us.

Oh, I thought a muscle injection... did you have X rays or MRI is there a spinal or cervical vertebra problem that showed on imaging?
I would ask Dr more questions , like why he is thinking epidural etc? (spinal stenosis, spinal disc herniation?)

Epidural Steroid Injections: Risks and Side Effects

I was told by ER doctor that X-rays were negative, which a week later the chiropractor agreed with ER doctor.
I was told by MD that the purpose for the epidural injection is to relax neck and back pain so I would be amendable to chiropractic treatment and exercise therapy.
I am new to this procedure, should I be more concerned?

I would be sure to get the type of injection clarified, muscular or epidural .
Muscular injections of botox , marcaine and similar meds have been used and posted about by past members with TOS.
