I think I have developed meralgia paresthetica
 

I am a seventy year old woman. Two weeks ago I had a severe pain midway between my spine and hip. I had been doing a lot of rather heavy physical labor in the month prior to this. Doctor gave me anti-inflammatory meds and the pain has mostly gone from that spot BUT I now have numbness and 'prickling' in the side and front of my thigh.

This is all new and I have researched. I am quite overweight and all the sites say that this is a huge contributing factor. I guess I am wanting to talk to people who have this condition and find out if losing weight had any impact on the symptoms.

I am so glad to have found this forum and look forward to any help I can get.
