Joan Didion, Author, after diagnosis of MS

All of a Piece: After the Diagnosis

I came across this essay by the famous author. She was diagnosed with MS many years ago, and many of her emotions and thoughts are familiar.

Joan Didion has always been too verbose and depressing for my taste but a a quote of hers stands out in my mind "Sometimes the stranger at the door does have a knife". Not sure it's in this writing.

I feel it's important to express this is her and her MS experience. One size does not fit all. Can be better, worse or just different. Some things are very fundamental and basic.

Seems like she's sort of a "glass half empty" sort of girl.

They had me read her and Sylvia Plath in high school (it was the early 70's) Very depressing.
