Tight Chest Muscles

All,

I am sure a lot of us have dealt with this...tight/spasming chest muscles...my are going CRAZY!!! What brings relief for you???

Massage is helping - things got esp flared up after my insurance company's exams they sent me for...talk about MAJOR PAIN (I left one test in tears and still don't feel right)...the scar area is esp sensitive...it hurts to touch it lately...

I am new to the forum, but dealt with this for quite some time. My PT helped me release the pec minor at the armpit/shoulder and it helped. This was not a comfortable process....not sure I would try it yourself. Maybe go for a good Mysofacial release massage. Doorway stretch to release the pec also helps. You need to do this a few times a day. Hot bath....for tightness. Ice for spasm.

I agree with LAarchitect--massage, doorway stretch, heat, do best for me. I've noticed that if I let my posture go, my pec minor starts flaring. So watch your posture, try to keep your shoulders down and back.

Hope you find relief soon,
