Anxiety - ocd?

Hey guys,
i suffered an concussion around 2 years ago and since then im suffering from different symptoms. One of those symptoms is my really strong anxiety and also a little of depression.
I googled about the type of anxiety i have and i found my thoughts described really well on this page of the ocd anxiety, which i quote:

**

Has anyone of you experienced the same thing and what can i do to make it stop? I feel the anxiety right now more than ever while my pcs and i dont know what I shall do.

Thank you so much, nctx.

Sorry the quote was deleted.

What i basically wanted to tell you about are thoughts like for example me believing that I may hurt someone physically, me believing that something violent sexual will happen to someone or me believing that my mother or father will get badly hurt.

Thank you.

If you think that you have OCD-like signs it might be an idea to see a clinical psychologist who has experience of working with clients who have OCD.

nctx,

I agree with kiwi except I think you should get even more serious. You should seek out a psychiatrist who has experience with brain injuries. It sounds like you may have suffered an injury to the part of the brain that deals with impulsive thoughts. Proper diagnosis and treatment is important.

Psychologists are not usually allowed to prescribe meds or order medical tests. An MD psychiatrist or neuro-psychiatrist can do both.

A neuro rehab hospital may be a good place to call to find such a specialist. A neuro psychologist affiliated with a neuro rehab hospital may also be able to help.

One term for a symptom like yours is perseveration.

I had thoughts like this as well.

Did your injury result from a traumatic event like being hurt in a violent way?
If so, this could be some PTSD-like symptoms you are having.

Either way, professional help is probably needed, I would just be careful to get the right diagnosis.
