what can i eat?

My appetite is down but I am having trouble figuring out what to eat to lose weight. Hardly anything appeals to me-just coffee. I no longer feel like eating eggs

OhKay 12-11-2017 08:05 AM

When I diet, I usually eat a lot of raw veggies.

bizi 12-11-2017 09:25 AM

berries are a good and healthy choice of fruit!

They say fish and turkey are good. I eat lots of bran flakes for breakfast.

Some people feel satiated with fat -- like sardines / tuna / a few slices of bacon instead of the eggs.

Some like fiber -- like beans, eggplant, squash.

Do you like ham? It can be easy to prepare -- no cooking at all if not up to it and it can be low calorie.

ham can be good for you but the sodium content can be high.

mymorgy 12-17-2017 07:03 AM

i found out the hard way

Gethprime 12-20-2017 04:14 AM

i like eating salmon, but I steam mines and not frying.

mymorgy 12-20-2017 07:13 AM

I should try it. It is so healthy for you. sardines are also good but i don't like them.

OhKay 12-20-2017 07:15 AM

You can steam the salmon in the microwave too, Bobby. I bet there's a recipe on the web that would tell you how to do it and have the correct time to cook it for.

mymorgy 12-20-2017 07:34 AM

thank you. that sounds easy. is lemon good with it?

mymorgy 12-20-2017 07:40 AM

it was jet.com these look like good prices

Gethprime 12-20-2017 08:28 AM

I sometimes use lemon pepper on mines. But usually its Old Bay

mymorgy 12-20-2017 09:28 AM

My husband would love to hear all these. I might give him copies of the
recipes. I don't care for salmon.

I had to look that up on Amazon.

I guess it is for Chinese food. Enjoy.

Hubby cooks the salmon I buy with a little olive oil and a good amount of garlic.

Perhaps onions too -- do not remember -- I am fussy about where I buy fish and rarely eat it myself no matter where it comes from.

Theres a grocery chain here in the philippines that sells some nice tasting salt cured ham :)

mymorgy 12-21-2017 06:46 AM

you scared me off with the salt

Mari 12-22-2017 06:22 AM

Hi,

I believe that one could buy low salt ham. Also soaking the ham
in water or running it over the water in the sink would get
rid of some salt.
I cannot imagine that it has more salt than tuna or handy frozen foods
or anything else we eat -- of course I have not checked carefully lately.

What kind of food have you been eating that you like and that works for you?

nothing has been working for me. i have been feeling rotte and fat. i haven;t been doing the exercises because i don't feel well and I havent told the p.t.-i feel so sluggish. I don't know what to do. I just watch the news and eat

OhKay 12-22-2017 09:11 AM

The news could be bringing you down, Bobby. I think it's a good idea to add in some different programs, maybe movies off Netflix? Or listen to some music, or read if you are up to it :hug::hug:

But I watch too much news when I am home, too. It sucks me in.

mymorgy 12-22-2017 10:35 AM

I got that liguid stuff that has 14 or 15 grams of protein. It tastes really good.
Yesterday I ate so many cashews. I ordered more nuts but i am going to throw
them out. I have no control and I still feel nauseated. I know I would feel better if I lost weight and stopped spending and slept more. right now I am just so depressed and I can't seem to help myself. I also have to cut back on the coffee. It is like I am out to get myself.

this tastes good

OhKay 12-23-2017 06:59 AM

I love cashews! They are expensive tho. You don't have to throw them out... you may want them later, or maybe you can gift them to one of your friends.

I'm sorry you feel out of control :hug::hug:
When do you see your pdoc next? I remember at one point you were thinking about asking him about trying the Rexulti that helped me. Did you ever ask him about it?

I'm glad you like the protein drink. I hope it works well as a meal replacement for you

mymorgy 12-23-2017 08:18 AM

I never asked him. I forgot why. the cashews were cheap at jet. I ate too many and got so constipated I got scared. finally after two bottles of magnisium citrate I couldn't stop going. I going outwith cecilia tonite and see what happens when i have a hamburg and fries. then for most of my meals I will have that liquid each day and two microwaved sweet potatoes.

Mari 12-23-2017 04:55 PM

Enjoy your meal out.

I love sweet potatoes.

M

OhKay 12-24-2017 08:44 AM

I'm sorry that you had a hard time when you went out with Cecilia :hug::hug:

I bet that the rollator will be a lot easier to handle when you have to go out.

I would only use the protein drink to as a substitute one meal a day.

mymorgy 12-24-2017 09:39 AM

that is what I plan to do. I plan to try to stick with sweet potatoes they are supposedly healthier than white potatoes. My stomach has been so funny or acidic I think the potatoes might be soothing

They probably are soothing and that is good.

I suppose that they are usually smaller and thus have fewer calories than white potatoes.

I just bought a steamer. stella says that microwaves rob the potatoes of all their nutrients.
