I was at the hospital on Thursday.

It has to do with my kidneys. I was at the hospital for about 5, and one half hours. They got my insurance cards first. Then I went to a little group meeting. Then they put me in this room. I saw doctors, and experts for a couple of hours in that room. I heard allot of worrisome things. Then I went to another place in the hospital, and they took about 7, or 8 samples of my blood. They were nice people. I liked them.

I've been though my mental health issues most of my life. Now this thing with my kidneys is happening. I don't know what's going on with them. They say that I will need a transplant. It takes about five years to get one. ??? BF:confused:

BF, I'm sorry you're having to go through all this.

Is there anyone (friend or family) that you could take with you when you have a meeting with the doctors? That way there would be another person hearing the same thing you are. If you had a question or forgot something after the meeting you could talk with that person.

Just a suggestion.....I know this must all be so hard to hear. Praying for you, BF.

This all must be so scary and stressful. I'm so sorry :hug::hug:

I am glad that it seems that you are finally getting the attention and care that you need for you condition now. Will you begin undergoing dialysis soon? That is usually what patients do to clean their blood (when their kidneys can't anymore) while they wait for transplants.

I agree with Kitty...
It is a good idea to have someone come with you when you go to appointments. Could your case manager come with you?

Do you think you can get an appointment with your councilor soon? This situation is a lot to handle alone :hug::hug:

Hi, Friend,:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I hope you feel good about the fact that the doctors and staff members are addressing your issues.

The group meeting was probably helpful because you got to talk to other people.

And such a long day! You did well.

Friend,
If nothing else talk to the case manager about going with you.
If I remember right you have one.

They would then be able to ask questions that you or they have.
With of course your permission.

Thank you everyone. My case manager couldn't come because it would have taken her whole work day. It's 50 minutes to, and 50 minutes back from the hospital. I was there for about 5, and 1/2 hours.

The only people who I met were the team of people one, by one assigned to me. I didn't meet any of the other people in the class. There were only several people.

I don't understand where this illness came from unless it were the PPI anti-acid medications. I don't remember any relatives to have ever developed Kidney Disease.

All of my support people have passed away. My mother, dad, and sister have all passed away. My life long best friend has passed away. I had people who were close to me, but they are in a different region of the state, and that was a long time ago. My medical team were asking about this. They said do you have anyone who could drive you to the hospital in the middle of the night? This was in case a kidney was available for me. I could not think of anyone who would do that for me. I thought about this later. I could drive out there. I don't know what they could do about moving my car, after I would be operated on. I'm concerned about my cat.

The surgeon in the group said he could perform a biopsy, and take a sample of one, or both of my kidneys. For dialysis they have to insert something under my skin into my arm I think. I think this thing stays in my arm during, and between periods of dialysis. BF:confused:

I don't know what this is going to do to my mental health issues, but I'm trying to be strong about this. BF:confused:
