Botox for headaches?

I have had a headache 24/7 with migraines at least once a day. Sometimes the migraines last part of a day/night and sometimes they last for days.

I saw a different Neurologist and he wants to try Botox injections - I'm leary !

Anyone with experience with Botox for PCS ?

Finding a neuro & seeing them within a reasonable amount of time is difficult at best!

I saw 2 neuros while inpatient - they referred me to another neuro - I waited 2 months for that appointment (some I called there was anywhere from 6 months to a year wait list! - some told me I was not supposed to call - I was supposed to get a referral and they would call me - since when can't I control my own health care?) anyway, I go to neuro #3, walk in and she is confused as to why I was referred to her when she is an epileptic neuro specialist. So back to the hunt for a neuro that can see me within a reasonable time frame - meaning within 2-3 months. Went to see neuro #4 and he wants to do Botox injections. This neuro was really nice - very empathic and considerate (unlike neuro #1 who was a class a know it all jerk) - surprisingly all the others have been stellar in the compassion department & treated me as a fellow human being.

With botox injections you can only get them every 12-14 weeks - it often takes up to the 3rd treatment to see results and you have to keep doing it or the migraines come back - if they go away to begin with.

Thoughts?

In the past, some have tried Botox for headaches. The results were mixed but that is not uncommon when dealing with headaches. It appears the important part is finding a doctor who is good at finding the right muscles to inject. Yours sounds confident.
