I always think the worse

Is that bipolar two or generalized anxiety or from my childhood? I always stop at the worst and don't think through a potential problem an terrify myself.
At this old age I have to learn to stop it

bizi 03-03-2018 04:28 PM

could be all of the above.
I am sorry that you struggle.

I think that it's probably a mix of genetics, brain chemistry, and past trauma.

None of this is your fault. When you're living with bipolar disorder and anxiety you can't just say "stop doing this or that, stop feeling this or that." I really wish that your meds worked better for you :hug::hug:

You can ask your therapist if she can help you learn some ways to cope with your anxiety, and see if any of those things help :hug::hug:

I just seem to have so many problems and I seem to be creating more as I go along. Now with the Johanna thingie and possibly losing all help .then worrying about the apartment.

Hi Bobby. Try not to think of the worse case imaginable about every situation. It's called to catastrophize about things. One thing after another. When it happens, realize that when you were a child, you didn't do this. When you were young you had parents, and God to rely on. Now you have God to rely on. He is all capable to help you through life no mater how hard your life is, and no mater what happens.

Catastrophizing is something we learn how to do. Let's try to unlearn it. When it happens, you might want to get up and distract these thoughts. The root of these thoughts is fear. I know this because I struggle with the issue also. BF:hug::hug::hug:

when i was little I took care of my parents. that was my job with my father's drinking and raging. I was the caretaker

OhKay 03-05-2018 07:55 AM

I know how hard that must have been on you, Bobby...
because I had to do it, too.

I think that is one of the reasons we are so alike
love
bobby
it is hard to break!

When a person is a caretaker, she/he has so much responsibility to be alert, to live
with heightened senses/ emotional responses.( -- that's my thinking anyway.)
And it is hard to drop that later.
