This sounds very promising. Non-invasive, less chance of infection, nearly immediate results. Is anyone in touch with someone in the clinical trial? From what I read the cost will be less than DBS, too.

This is permanent

We were very intrigued with this when we first read about it a couple of years ago. But we realized that it results in a permanent elimination of the tissue that they direct the ultrasound to-meaning, there is no going back if it doesn't work well for you: that brain tissue is gone. That was too scary for us, mainly because we aren't tremor-dominant and so the chances of it being really helpful for us were unknown and even then, small. I think it we had bad tremors, though, we would really be considering it, for all the reasons that you mentioned. I believe this treatment was first discovered/used for essential tremor, so it is very tremor-symptom focused.

For those tremory PWP that it can help, though, wow, this could be a wonderful alternative to DBS.

I am, I think, tremor dominant, but the thought of permanent, no-going-back change gives me pause. There are always trade-offs.
