I ran across this quote
Carrie Fisher:
"If you're living with this illness and functioning at all, it's something to be proud of, not ashamed of. They should issue medals along with the steady stream of medication." M |
that is fantastic

I sent the quote to my nephew
|
I really want some medals!

Me to Mari. We fight these emotional battles every day to survive, even though not to many people help us, or care about us. BF:hug::hug::hug:

maybe we should keep this thread open and if we see people who are famous write something about their bipolar experience write it down. I am sure I am not going to get a response from my nephew

I love hearing these kind of quotes from Carrie Fisher. She was always so open about her experiences with BP, and I like how she dealt with it with humor.
This quote made me happy and sad at the same time tho. Happy because I'm proud I am functioning now, but it was a sad reminder of the places I've been in the past (and could easily be in the future), and why it's such a big deal. |
