I ran across this quote

Carrie Fisher:

"If you're living with this illness and functioning at all, it's something
to be proud of, not ashamed of.
They should issue medals along with the steady stream of medication."

Me to Mari. We fight these emotional battles every day to survive, even though not to many people help us, or care about us. BF:hug::hug::hug:

maybe we should keep this thread open and if we see people who are famous write something about their bipolar experience write it down. I am sure I am not going to get a response from my nephew

I love hearing these kind of quotes from Carrie Fisher. She was always so open about her experiences with BP, and I like how she dealt with it with humor.

This quote made me happy and sad at the same time tho. Happy because I'm proud I am functioning now, but it was a sad reminder of the places I've been in the past (and could easily be in the future), and why it's such a big deal.
