kratom anyone?

Just curious about kratom.
apparently 3-5 million people use it in the usa for pain and and well being. It has opiod like receptors and may be classified an illicit drug. Some states have banned use, indiana being one of them.
I have never heard of it before this evening.
Have you?

It looks like trouble to me. It looks like a addictive, narcotic type substance. BF:hug::hug::hug:

FDA says no:

FDA Says Kratom Not Worth the Risk

Holy crap! Why isn't this stuff illegal everywhere yet?

It may be an herbal supplement, but it isn't approved as such by the FDA, and has the addictive properties, and similar chemical structure, as opioids.

And in case you didn't click on Mari's link, an admitted non-randomized study showed that up to 50% of it is contaminated with Salmonella...
