A new digital divide: Young people who can’t use keyboards:The Asahi Shimbun

My first thought was 'Why young people?' My second thought was 'The QWERTY keyboard, it just will not go away - the villainous mouse its hero!' My third thought was 'Does the author have any idea of what ALS patients face?'

The story clearly shows the potential value of the internet and introduces the idea those known for its most extensive use may start thinking about accessibility independent of disability.

One of the problems of developing human interfaces for computers is large demand is needed to divide the industrial costs across sufficient number of humans so the devices remain affordable to ordinary ones.

The disabled are often left out of the design equation . . . will there be change?
