Autoimmune Information Network
I just read this article and thought, possibly, some people here might like to read it, too, since it could help some, most especially since the article delves into delayed and misdiagnosed conditions that many may not be familiar with:
Autoimmune disease sufferers find relief through local nonprofit Walk-a-thon fundraiser slated at reservoir Sept. 16 BY COLLEEN LUTOLF, Staff Writer http://bulletin.gmnews.com/news/2006..._Page/006.html I know that I've heard of Ankylosing Spondylitis; it's why I have a wheelchair . (Well, it could look pretty spiffy with some racing stripes :D.) This is the non-profit group that Barbara Yodice and her husband founded: Autoimmune Information Network, Inc. Helping people with autoimmune diseases http://www.aininc.org/ Pretty amazing woman! :). |
Bobbi, good Idea & concept....
They missed a few AI's tho, there are LOTS more. I wasn't able to find a 'contact us' point on their sites tho...and some parts were confusing re donations distribution. They can get there tho! Let's just keep getting words out on what really IS out there w/o having to do all the 'squirrelley work'!
You must be working overtime! - j |
Hi, Dahlek,
The "contact" info. is on the domain's front site-page; it's under the rolling banner. There is a toll number, along with a toll-free tele. and an AOL E-mail address. I like you're way of looking at it: That, with time, the site will add more and probably improve its navigation :). |
Email address for the Brick Township Bulletin is bulletin@gmnews.com
Autoimmune Information Network, Inc. has their contact info on the front page (top center). |
Thanks, ZS for adding the contact info. about the B. Township Bulletin .

Bobbi, I'm bumping this...
The important development regarding a skin cancer gene has recently been announced. For anyone with any neuro condition, especially those having autoimmune components or aspects- THIS IS NEWS TO CELEBRATE!
Think on it! The ability to essentially 'Turn Off' the gene or mechanism that's caused our problems, or, at least, to turn it in the most constructive direction -maybe one it should have gone to begin with, well...HECK! SCIENCE IS GETTING THERE! I've been reading avidly medical news updates for the last 6 mos, and hadn't caught this one. Hey, the researchers in some corners have gotten beyond the 'mouse', 'rat', or 'ferret' stage! They've gotten to PEOPLE! REAL LIVE HUMAN BEINGS! While some of the news is good, the test group's overall results were sad. Can we, since we're guinea pigs anyways, voluteer in such trials, and get or help progress help to others? Before it's too late? THE Safe and sorta-kinda-not-really works or THE risky and could make all the difference? If not for us but all of us in the long run? Everyone, search your conscience & check out NIH's Clinical Trials in your area of concerns - For each of us, small steps can lead to GIANT steps. - j |
