Feet shuffling

We saw our friends again. He is clearly an alcoholic. He has a new condition that he seems to be making excuses for...doesn’t seem to be forthright. He is shuffling his feet. **Some days were better than others. Many days he seemed like a person much older due to this. Might this be neuropathy? Might this be related to alcoholism? We still have not specifically mentioned the drinking other than we absolutely won’t allow drinking and driving, which they agree and never argue about. Anyone familiar with this foot shuffling especially as it might relate to alcoholism?

From a quick search it might indicate thiamine deficiency, which is not uncommon in people who abuse alcohol.

You could suggestion to him that he takes a daily thiamine supplement.

In retrospect...I think it was likely neuropathy.

He was a good man. Many attributes.
