MP treatment
I’ve been diagnosed with MP, the pain is absolutely unbearable. I have done so much research on it and seen the treatments available but unfortunately my doctor won’t prescribe me any of the medications because I am on antidepressants and I take medication for epilepsy too. He says the usual like Gabapentin and pregabalin will interact with those I’m already on.
I’m at my wits end, i’m In agony all day at work, then I come home for rest and I cannot sleep because the pain seems to be even worse at night and I cannot bear having the sheets touch my leg. Anyone got any ideas? |
Hello Lulu2, I also have MP. Nerve root blocks and acupuncture have been useful, also my GP prescribed Axsain cream. If you get referred to a pain clinic, they may offer you Lidocaine plasters and/or Qutenza patch. Physio did not help me, but they lent me a Tens machine and I now have my own. I take Gabapentin, which I realise you cant take, but I have also tried Amytriptilin. Please insist your GP tries you on these treatments.
