My abnormal EEG results
hello,
I am a 40 yr old female, and my doctor suggested that I do en EEG because i am having an increase in muscle jerks before I go to sleep. so we did the awake/drowsy EEG and my results were abnormal, it showed the following: Few intermittent underlying slow 5-6 theta waves noted mainly bilateral at the occipital electrodes. Under hyperventilation and photo stimulation no epileptic discharges were detectable, but she showed for one to two seconds high-amplitude delta activity in both occipital regions without concomitant motor effects detectable. Please note that my brain MRI was normal, so the dr told me that my eeg result is harmless and I should just let it go. But I am still worried as to why i had theta and delta waves while awake, my eyes were closed during the test but I didn't sleep. any input would be helpful. Thank you |
Hi Dragonfly
Welcome to NeuroTalk :). I know very little about what you have described but hope that other members will be able to offer you good ideas. Best wishes. |
