new here

Hello, I’m a newbie on here / to this forum.

Currently, I’m 9 ½ weeks post hit-on-the-head. And like most others, I have more questions than answers. I’m not even sure what to put on here.

I thought things would be ‘all-better’ by now, or maybe that was just wishful thinking. Over the weeks, I’ve been doing a fair amount of reading/research online, as well as going over the Sticky on here ‘Things you wish you’d known when you first got post-concussion syndrome’. This is probably the 3rd most reading I’ve done in my life, as I’m not a ‘reader’! But if those around you can’t provide any info or answers, then you have to go get it / find them.

I have no idea what to do here. I could really use some guidance or advice or something along those lines. And I’m basically on my own, so also could probably use a friend or buddy or some support. (kinda have none)

Thanks in advance.

Quad,

Give us a brief synopsis of what happened and what is happening.

I got hit on the top of the head by a falling object. (fell less than 15 feet) I didn’t think the hit was ‘that hard’ but maybe all the symptoms tell things differently. [or maybe it’s because this isn’t my first brain injury……]

My symptoms included headaches, light-headedness, nausea, ear pressure/popping (both) & some pain, neck stiffness & some pain, and trouble sleeping; along with sensitivity to light, sensitivity to sound, and face pains. I also have at least one area on my head of mild hypersensitivity. [and possibly something with my jaw-joint, still investigating on that]

It’s now been 3 months & 1 week! A few of those symptoms have gotten better but overall, I’m still having symptoms - like daily headaches. Still kinda at a loss as to what to do. I’m some where between not super bad and not super good, which from the doctors stand-point means I’m doing ‘okay enough’ (so there isn’t much urgency and things should be waited out). Which leaves me wondering, so now what?!
