Work place rule freaking me out.
 

The BOSS (a male) of workplace made a rule that if we want to wear
what he calls non-professional shoes, we need HR's form filled out by an MD.


Most people are my age and older but the boss is young AND A MAN.
(Most women wear comfortable flats because that is the only way to do this
job.)


My sneakers are hip and look fine and I spend a sht-ton of money
on them so they look a little bit cool and classy.

Since I was 16 and dx'd with scoliosis, an ortho determined that I need to wear
a sole on my left foot with an extra two centimeters to keep my back
from being too off balance.

I wondering how many appts it will take to get this done.


I AM TOO DEPRESSED TO DEAL WITH THIS.

One appointment with your PCP to explain the situation to him and ask him to write you a note should do it. If there are any issues, tell the SOB that your PCP knows your medical history, and any further appointments would be unnecessary, a financial burden on you :hug::hug::hug:

Does he have nothing better to due than judge people by the shoes they wear????

It should be simple, maybe just a call to your dr or email if they have that option especially if your Dr already has the foot issues information on record..

It sounds like a good medical reason to wear non office type shoes .
Medical reasons carry more power..

either you Mdoc or Pdoc could send you a medical reason for your foot wear. You probably don't even have to go in. Just call them and ask them to send it to you. Talk with their nurses...Or just leave a message or email/portal what ever you feel comfortable doing.

My MD does not have record of my scoliosis that was diagnosed when I was 15.




I would go to the PA and explain to him
(1) the work rule
and
(2) the Scoliosis


If the PA wants an ortho to deal with this I will not be happy.

Your Boss, if he is reasonable at all should be able to okay your shoes on request. If he doesn't, please get the note from your doctor. He has to comply with that.

Scoliosis is provable, so there should not be a problem. I'm sorry that you have it.

You might need to go to a specialist on it and get a note. I know that it would be inconvenient, but it could work. BF:hug::hug::hug:

The orthopedist would want X-rays and so on.


But that might be what I have to do.









I am going to forget about this for a few days because it stressed me out.
