Advice @ Help
Hello Everyone I will make this short having problems with my medication, Let's just say I'm running with cramps  I was wondering if anyone has phoned thier specialists secretary to ask if they could have copies of letters that the doctor has sent to cppdisabilty and to worker's comp. I would really like to see what they say and with appeals I may need to submitt them as evidence if they are for me. Thanks in advance, I would like to call today. In between the B>R> I will keep checking.

Gosh, I don;t know how your legal system works there. But, t is likely if you have an attorney he has all evidance that has been relevant, or the letters if the otherside got them, or not...then he would ahve you sign a release to get the records and correspondance.
Here in US the IME doctors send their B.S. report to the insurance carrier requesting, and a copy is sent to us and our attorney. You can always request your medical records for personal use. What if you see a few doctors or want to see a specialist, you want the records. Now one problem inUS i ha dis if the w/c is paying for doc, I ahd problems getting records as they paid for them..any doctors I paid for I got no problems. It will never hurt to call and ask for a copy of any recent reports sent. I would call and ask if you could come in and sign a release to have the files contents with correspondance and would there be a cost, That it is for personal use as you keep all records up to date. What is the worse they can say, no..and if your not being paid for by w/c type payment to him, you should have no trouble getting them..The records, but letters I wonder, if you requested the report sent to the disability, he really should have sent you a c/c in the original mailing.... di |
I don't know if I can be of any help and I believe you're in Canada? So things may be different there. But here we're supposed to have a legal right to be able to request copies of our records. Sometimes the dr.'s office will charge you for making them but mine never has. But, I don't know if that includes letters that the dr. has sent for you. I'm sure somebody else here will know the answer. I do know that the one time I had to hire an attorney years ago when I was a victim of hit and run, he requested copies of all my medical records and that included all the letters that the drs. had written to other drs. about my cases.

Thankyou both I called today and of course the secretary is on holidays until next Monday. I will call then and request any correspondence to wc and cppdisability made on my behalf by the specialist. Thanks again, and take care.:)
