Hi,
I have not been here for a long time. I was feeling so much better. I really thought that I was almost healed. Feeling really good the past 6 month. Almost no symptoms. I even got rid of my anxiety. Had a lot of spooky situations, but nothing happened because I didn't think of it.

But now it is all back. I didn't hit my head. My dad passed away suddenly two weeks ago while he was on vacation in Italy. The first week I was crying a lot, but my head was okay. A week ago I started getting symptoms. My ears were ringing, I was nauseous and dizzy. Went to bed that day thinking that I would feel better the next day. But I woke up with all of my concussion symptoms. Feels like day one in a concussion and it does not get better.

What's the cause? I don't know what to do

Anja,

Sorry to hear about your dad.

This has caused a flood of stress and other hormones to flood your body. It will take time for your body to settle down.

Try to focus on productive tasks that move your forward. Keep your mind as occupied with these productive tasks as possible. Empty time tends to get filled with the stressful thoughts.

My best to you.

Anja,

I am so sorry for your loss, if you ever want a friend to talk to, message me! I know I’m just a stranger on this website but if you wanna talk about any stuff, I’m here.
I agree with what Mark said, and it must be so frustrating to feel this sick again when you have been really careful and then there is just a tragic event happening that makes you have symptoms.

I've had the similar experiences, regularly. Have had PCS for 5 years now.
Stress induces your body into shut down mode and I think this causes restriction of blood flow to the brain. I use cannabis to regulate my sleep which helps me throughout the next day and levels me out.

When something big happens in my life that is stressful it takes me a few days to process it. Its like the brain is a funnel, a healthy one can pass a lot through it but an injured one can't, it can only allow so much to pass through, beyond that it gets overloaded and symptoms come back.

My only suggestion is to find an activity/ies that you enjoy that is somewhat thoughtless and mildly stimulating but passes time. You need to get your brain off of high alert which is common with PCS. There are other methods, some of which you probably do. There are also other active and passive methods like cannabis, meditation, going for a walk, mildly stimulating activities, etc. Have faith if you've made it this far its going to pass.
