How to get ambroxol (sodium channel blocker) made?

Hi all,
I'm brand new to neurotalk and have only recently been diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy, by way of a skin punch biopsy that revealed markedly reduced intraepithelial nerve fiber density.

I've recently read that the sodium channel blocker (selective for NaV1.8), ambroxol, might have promise in reducing nerve pain in those with peripheral neuropathy. There's a study on pubmed that uses a 20% ambroxol cream- comprised of 10g ambroxol, 5g DMSO, and 35g Linola cream, for a total of 50g (I would post a link to the study, but since I'm new, the forum won't let me post links).

I live in the US, and I'm not sure if it's regularly prescribed via typical insurance plans. If I was able to get ambroxol tablets, how would I go about finding a compounding pharmacy near me that could make the 20% ambroxol cream alluded to in the previous paragraph?

Many thanks for any help!

Haven’t been able to locate it either. Let us know if you can find it. Look into Oxybutynin and pirenzeprine also. SFN is horrible. Gelnique , Oxytrol patches. Anticholergenics Antimuscarinics . Lots of info if you search those.
