post concussion syndrome

hi, new here

I had a concussion in August, and have had a series of setbacks since the injury caused by small bumps to my head. Basically every time I bump my head my symptoms come back for a week or so. It is kind of ruining my life, I feel like I can’t do anything and every day is just leading up to the next time I get bumped on the head on the train or at a restaurant or whatever.

Last night my boyfriend went to grab a remote from behind me on the couch and brushed the back of my head, it was literally a tiny tap, and now all my symptoms Are back.

I really don’t know what to do. Doctors don’t believe me and think I’m just having anxiety. But it happens every time I take a tiny bump to my head. It’s not just in my head.

Try searching the forum for past posts on this topic. This problem with sensitivity seems to be quite common and has been discussed at great length in previous posts.

I fall into the camp that holds that there are both physical and psychological components to this sensitivity. As far as I know, there is virtual no medical or other scientific literature on this issue.

Hey! I got my concussion in August too! I really don't have an answer for your questions but I've been having a rough time too and it's good to have a friend out there :)

You are very correct....I never would of thought that the internet would be so helpful in so many ways from support and not being alone through such hard times!

I got my concussion in a car accident 15 months ago and still deal with many issues. Every time I see a new doctor or specialist they tell me that they are learning from us as the whole theory of PCS is so new for all of them. They also say, "If you've seen one concussion, you've seen one concussion" as there is no one textbook way someone will get symptoms, or not, from a concussion. Each one is different, unlike a broken bone. Those all fix in somewhat the same way.
