neck pain after rib resection

After a 6 year battle to find a diagnosis, I was found with neuro TOS and Vascular. My brachial plexus was completely compromised. I had started to have muscle death in my arm and shoulder.
In March of 2019 I had my top rib resection and scalenectomy. Things were rough at first. The pain from the returning feeling and blood flow was awful. I am having a few re-occurrence symptoms, mostly pain and weakness.
HOWEVER: I have had a "crick" in my neck for 3 months with no relief. The same muscles that were in spasm for 5 years are back in spasm and nothing seems to help.
I have tried... dry needling, massage therapy, more PT and chiropractic care.
Has anyone else had this problem or a similar story with their journey. Id love to have an answer, or just to chat with others that may have had similar problems after surgery?

Sounds familiar. I can recommend a prescription topical anti-inflammatory called Voltaren Gel 1%. It has helped my neck a lot (post resections, DDD, osteophites, DJD, etc,) Usually prescribed for knees, shoulders or any inflamed joints, I only need to use it occasionally and I get good relief in 12hrs or less that lasts!
