Was diagnosed with CIDP but think it is polyneuropathy -
In 1996 I was diagnosed with CIDP HOWEVER, I am now totally disregarding the diagnosis because I have no major symptoms and have come to the conclusion that what I suffer from is polyneuropathy.
So - here is my question - I have not taken any vaccines at all except one shingles shot a good many years ago without a reaction. I now am wondering if I can proceed with the Shingrix shot. Also have not taken any flu or pneumonia shots because it would have been detrimental to the CIDP - but what about now???? |

Personally I avoid the vaccine route, take none. I'm 81. I keep my immune system strong and truly believe Grape Seed Extract is my #1 hero in this area. Been taking it 25 yrs soon. Also, take my share of B vitamins daily.
Do meditation. And I've had chicken pox as a kid but have avoided shingles all my adult years. Work on the Mind/Body connection of keeping calm and positive. Shingles Pain Relief: Prevention and Treatments 22 - Holistic Treatment Options |
Shingrex made me too nervous.
Not that they are so well versed in neuropathy, but talk to your neurologist. I asked this same question a year ago and, after doing research yet finding very little info, decided that messing w my already messed up nerves wasn't worth it. LAST thing I wanted to do was get worse with no reversing what I'd done.
Good luck making your Decision! |
