Heart Rate

Good night/morning

I have not been diagnosed with anything yet. Tests are coming. At this time the Dr's are saying they have no idea. I am diabetic (type 2) and low Vit D. I have major muscle weakness that started slowly back in early Jan (that I noticed) but it sort of took a turn for the worse about three days ago. My muscles crashed and they twitch, cramp and basically don't hold me up very well now.

My question for others going through peripheral neuropathy is do you notice a big change in your resting heart rate? My heart rate goes down to 44 at night and honestly that scares the bujeezus out of me. I've noticed my general heart rate and blood pressure have gone down over the past month. My blood pressure is still in the green, but it's getting close to not so green anymore. The nighttime heart rate is what worries me though. I think it hit 42 earlier while still awake though lying down, so still not at full rest. Makes me scared to fall asleep. o.O

Any symptoms from the slow heart beats?

[Bradycardia typically does not cause symptoms until the rate drops below 50 BPM. When symptomatic, it may cause fatigue, weakness, dizziness, sweating, and at very low rates, fainting.[2]

During sleep, a slow heartbeat with rates around 40–50 BPM is common, and is considered normal. ]

I don't recall major muscle weakness being part of PN...maybe after long term PN...
I hope the drs are planning testing to rule in or out other things..

My cardiologist says, if it drops below 50, get a pacemaker.
