More Questions on Vision
 

Hey guys, back again

So life has been going pretty good lately, I recently started playing baseball again and am looking foward to a wonderful season. However, I have been having some trouble seeing the ball in the outfield which doesn't normally happen to me. When running in on shalllow balls I find that the ball dances a little bit as I approach making it hard to see right before I make the catch. This may be in my head; however, I simply want to make sure that I cover all my bases. I have already seen a vestibular therapist and they said that I had no vision issues that they know off.

To summarize these are my main questions:

Is it possible to have vision issues even though a vestibular therapist said that I was fine?

Should I seek another evaluation from someone else?

Do I even have vision issues in the first place, if so what might be going on?

This issue is causing quite a bit of anxiety rn and I would love it if someone would be able to answer before my upcoming game tomorrow at 4pm.

Hey there,

I was seen by a vestibular therapist and also a Neuro Optometrist. My therapist said she thought my vision was fine but it wasn't. I am 15 months post concussion and am still having a lot of visual issues. If you feel like you aren't seeing as well it is possible you aren't.

Make an appointment and go check it out!

Get your vision checked by a Behavioral optometrist before you take a fly ball into the face. A vestibular therapist does not have the training to assess your visual function as well as a Behavioral Optometrist.

Convergence insufficiency is common. Other visual issues can also arise.

I have the same problem chasing a fly ball down in the outfield. If the ball comes directly to me no prob but when I have to run the ball bounces around with my steps.
So far I've been able to concentrate on the real ball and it lands in the glove just fine.
This is the only thing where this sort of deal appears and wasn't there prior to my accident.
