Here since 2006,saying Hello

I joined NeuroTalk in 2006 but have been very inactive. For many years SallyC was a major player here on the MS board, and I was a cyberfriend of hers for about 15 years. I was sad about losing her--as well as about losing another member here, Frog42.

I'd just like to say Hi to the people here and ask how everyone has been doing.

I'm not getting any younger but at least the MS has been less of a problem than it used to be, probably because I've made lots of adaptations over the years. MS has been pretty much in charge of my life for about 40 years now.

But I can still walk even though I use a rollator for distances. I use a wheelchair for all sitting, and I sit most of the time. I also use the wheelchair for longer distances.

I've had a few falls in recent years but luckily no more broken bones.

I hope everyone here is finding ways of getting around their MS somehow. :Wave-Hello:

Hi yerself, Agate! It’s been a long time for me too, I started at another board in 2006 and migrated here shortly thereafter in 2007.

I am in just about the same phase as you, about 38 years in, virtually zero balance and barely ambulatory these days. I am walker dependent for slow motion and ride my bike out of these four walls. I am excellent at falling and look good in the execution of landing in a pretzel formation.

I remember the old days with the small crew led by Sally. She was a great lady.

Anyway, this freaky virus thing had me wondering how everyone is faring so I thought I would have a look. It’s a little barren in these parts!

Hi Cindy!

How nice to hear from you!

Yes, Sally was really a very key person on this MS board. It looks as if she started to have problems so severe that she couldn't be on here much, and then members started drifting away, and that is very sad.

Hi Agate & Cindy, I am one of the ones that started to drift away when our small site became so big. Sally was the best, we talked on the phone at times and realized how much we had in common other then the MS. Miss her. When our group got so big it seemed we lost the close togetherness. I loved he time Cindy when you went on the road trip and sending all the different pictures and all the other crazy games and whatever we would make up. I am doing OK no sense complaining to many other problems.

Take care Jappy (Joyce)

Hi Joyce,
Nice to hear from you! Hope you'll drop by often.

There's a lot of sense in complaining even if there are so many other problems that you don't know where to start. This is a support board, and I'm pretty sure we can come here to complain.:)

I know it helps to talk about things. Having MS is bad enough, but when the rest of the body starts falling apart, I get to the point of saying OK what is next.

When I get over feeling sorry for myself, I realize that I am so much luckier than a lot of others.

The moods just keep going up & down. My strong faith in God is what keeps me going. I do miss talking to everyone on NT it used to help me a lot. Got to get back to you that helped me a lot.

This place is a way some of us can stay connected even though we can't see very many real people in our daily lives.:grouphug:
