How Do You Sleep

Hi. How do you all sleep. I have averaged an hour a night over the last 10 weeks and are going crazy. Does any one know of a natural cream/lotion home remedy that can take the edge off the pain. I'm not keen on meds.

Where is the pain that tends to keep you awake?

OP: Here is a Sleep post I started in 2015, I sleep about 10 hrs every night. Works on this combo since 1999.

I also preach Topricin for Pain for this neuropathy stuff. I've posted a lot about what I use for neuropathy issues which hit me after hip replacement in 2010.

I love love love to find answers to my health stuff.

My feet:(:(:(:(

Ok, I've been following this thread but didn't know where it was going or if I could help...not sure I really can help, per se, but I've been through this. I have a rare condition that heats up the hands and feet. It's really sensitive in summer months or hotter climates. I have different issues with the hands and feet in winter, circulation/pain sensitivity related. The thing that has helped me is a tremendous amount of aspirin. I'm scared to admit this because I fear as soon as I start sharing these thoughts, it will stop working and I will go back to the painful hell that you now seem to be going through. With that being said, I'm also open to suggestions of topical creams if this should be necessary.

To give more of an example of my feet, they will turn red in the heat of the sun, even now, but only when I'm acclimatizing and/or if it's really hott will they start to like burn. It sucks most when you need to sleep and it keeps you up. Ive found myself sleeping on the floor during summer nights, because it's cooler, and I can put my feet up against the cool wall. I'm even barefoot when the rest of the year I'm in socks (due to the other issue. If feet get too cold then they'll start burning just as soon as I attempt to reheat them. Also, when cold, they turn blue and/or go numb even. It's not rheynouds.. but similar.)

Also helpful is getting on an anti inflammatory diet.

Best wishes! Hope you get to feeling better soon. I really mean it!

So I'll say it again, once you start with Topricin and there is a variety Topricin for Feet, same ingredients as for Pain but thicker consistency, you'll wonder why it took so long to get here. But one needs to use it a few times daily and wear socks and I'm talking about going to sleep too. I have tried so many topicals and this one keeps coming out on top. I like Aspercream with Lidocaine too and keep a good stock of both. For best prices, and I shop for my budget, amazon and ebay come out on top. I watch for some deeper discounts. And I stock up.

NP is not my only issue, I have such a damaged knee and thank goodness I have the NP under a pretty good control. And sleep is so vital and I've posted a lot about this....

And then there is the Inosine for the NP and I've posted a lot about it..

And as some one else said here I believe keep the histimines under control. That' where Vit C and Grape Seed Ex do a great job. c

Sorry to hear you are having trouble sleeping as do I. I've had idiopathic peripheral neuropathy since 2014. I take desipramine and gabapentin. I have neuropathy all over but specifically in my arms and legs. It feels like severe sunburn and clothing aggravates my skin--like wearing clothing over a layer of sand. I do not have sharp pain but have tingling. For sleep I take 2 mg melatonin 1 hr before bedtime and this provides 7 hrs of good sleep. Hope this helps.

I had a couple of doctor's recommend Lidocaine 4% for neuropathy. It seems to help and it can be used on more sensitive areas that pepper cream would burn.

600 mg gabapentin and 10 mg Ambien. I would never sleep otherwise. The Ambien not only helps me sleep, it actually helps relieve the pain. I’ve told my doctor it’s not just a sleep aid, it’s a medication and an essential part of my treatment for body wide neuropathy.
