Fish oil supplements
 

I had been taking a fish oil supplement for about a year. I had a physical and my doc said my bad cholesterol was high and he put me on a statin. He is a good doc I have been seeing him 4 years and so did my mother. He has always been conservative in his treatment and I dont believe he is in the pockets of pharma. I saw a commercial that claimed fish oil raised bad cholesterol or LDL. I asked my doctor about this and he said it is true. I believe he said it raises both types, that is LDL and HDL.
Anyway I am stopping the fish oil and the statin until my next checkup and we will see where I end up. I thought I would share the info re fish oil with the group because I have never seen it published anywhere, maybe I just didnt investigate it thoroughly. I found it interesting.
