Good Morning All - Newbie here!!

:) Good Morning all

I'm new to the forum and looking forward to getting to know everyone here.

little medical info about me: i am awaiting an appointment to see a Neurosurgeon on Sept 18. i have a bulged disc, a herniated disc and 2 nerve compressions in my neck - one of the left and one on the right, issues affect all areas between c2- and c7. i also have spinal canal compression as a result and reversal of the cervical lordorsis. Some moderate spondylytic barring as well. (excuse my spelling, :o I'm recalling from memory rather than the actual report.

in my thoracic and lumbar spine i have moderate osteoarthritis.

Needless to say i have some nerve issues going on and am on gabapentin/neurontin at least until i see the neurosurgeon. I am hoping he will have some effective pain management ideas.

I'm hoping that in the meantime i can gain some useful info from you all.

Have a great day!!!
Rosie

Hi Rosie. Welcome to NeuroTalk. You'll find everyone here very caring and supportive.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems. I have cervical and lumbar problems as well. I've had 2 injections in the cervical part as high as they can safely go. They are THE most painful injections I've ever had, but they really helped. I'm afraid I may have to go back for another. Getting constant electrical zap down the left side and my left hand starts to go numb.

Fun, huh? I also used to get tons of epidurals for the lumbar. But a new pain doc decided to try SI's instead (sacroiliac injections). Those finally started to relieve the pain. I have bilateral injections set up for the 24th. Owie.

I hope they find the right solutions for you. That pain is just not fun!

The Spinal Disorder forum is packed with great people!
