Cancer Prevention (Short Video)-- Excellent Reminder

Cancer Health Rant - YouTube

I peronally work to keep immune system strong and my choices are:

Grape Seed Extract, Vit C, Zinc, Vit D (a given), low dose Iosol Iodine daily.

I hear from so many being hit with cancers....wonder if they work on their immune systems.

In my view the information in the link is, at best, very simplistic.

Its presenter trained as a chiropractor but he seems to know very little about cell biology. All of the usual convenient villains are there, the evils of Big Pharma, vaccines are bad and so on

I wonder if he has been told about Brca-1 and Brca-2. These are two proteins which, when present in mutant form, increase the chances of a woman getting breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Some women, when learning that they have inherited one of these protein, choose to have their ovaries removed and a double radical mastectomy.

The Rb gene product is another example. When present in mutant form this often leads to an eye cancer (retinoblastoma) which has a very good prognosis.

This is personal for me. A dear friend of mine died from colon cancer secondary to Crohn's Disease. I doubt if she would have been impressed if a well-meaning amateur had told her that all she had to do was make her immune system strong (whatever that means) by taking supplements.

Simple is not bad. I was at a lecture 25 yrs ago on Pycnogenol that was being brought into the U.S. from France and we were told "may prevent cancer" ... that was Simply music to my 57 yr old ears. And still going strong on this Simple information.

Wonder if your friend was taking Simple supplements called antioxidants

Millions are receiving the cancer(s) diagnosis and wonder how their intake of antioxidants is.

Here is some NOT highly scientific info on what free radicals are doing:

Kiwi: Do some research on the wonders of the Grape....

Caroline, did you read this article?

Quoting from it;

Overall, these nine randomized controlled clinical trials did not provide evidence that dietary antioxidant supplements are beneficial in primary cancer prevention.

In some preclinical studies, antioxidants have been found to promote tumor growth and metastasis in tumor-bearing mice and to increase the ability of circulating tumor cells to metastasize

The emphases are mine in both quotes.

I read it but overall more positive than negative.
