Neuropathy causes
So what exactly causes peripheral neuropathy? Is it lifestyle, environment, genes? Why do some people get it and not others? Is there a common denominator?
Love to hear from the experts. |
I make no claim to be a special expert on this.
Peripheral neuropathy can arise from a complex interplay between genetic and environmental factors, the details of which can and do vary between different people. Finding health professionals who can work with you on this is not always an easy task. |
Just a few: heavy metal accumulation, toxic chemicals-including chemo meds, diabetes, alcoholism....

There are over 200 known causes of neuropathy--
--and probably quite a number of unknown causes, as so many things affect nerves. A lot of the autoimmune causes--there are a lot of those--have only been described in the medical literature relatively recently, and the human genome project also brought a number of hereditary neuropathies into the light. But we probably still have causes to discover.

No expert here. BUT in my life, all this neuropathy hit me after Hip replacement surgery 10 yrs ago. I would think almost any surgery can cause nerve damage.
A friend has years of damage from Statin drugs and skin cancer radiation treatments.... |
