Numbness in foot - anyone deal with this?

Last night I woke up and my foot was numb. It still is numb today. (So not just a sleep thing)

Im 12 days out from my injury and its scary to suddenly have a new symptom show up. Im afraid and wondering if I should head to the ER or if this is just a common symptom.

Has anyone had similar issues? Would appreciate any info. Thanks

Watch the color of your toenails. They should be white to light pink. Squeeze them and see if they return to their normal color right away. They should turn white when squeezed then return to pink quickly. That is blood refilling the nail bed. If they are dark, an Urgent Care visit would be good. Stay away from ERs if you can. They get bored with minor symptoms. Urgent care will tell you if an ER visit is necessary.

Even a chiropractor visit would be worthwhile. Try to find a chiro who is an upper cervical technique specialist.

OP: My right foot is really numb and my injury was from hip replacement 10 yrs ago so for me it's arthritis that has set in...my whole right side of body from replacement is a mess.

Left foot is a little numb from time to time and again it's arthritis...

My right and left side of body is like day and night pretty much. Surgery is very invasive, so just like other injuries.

I use Topricin a lot and find it best for my issues and also Ultra Tiger Balm and use both these on especially right foot and bend and rub my feet a lot. I k eep my feet lubricated day and night and of course wear socks.....

And a lot is from nerve damage too.

Mri?

I mentioned to my Nuerologist that my foot was numb (2 1/2 weeks now after injury) and she suggested an MRI.

Wouldnt this be a nerve thing? What could an MRI show? (I should probably ask her)

Did she say MRI or did she say NCV or NCS or EMG? Those would be more appropriate in many cases.

You need to find a Physiatrist (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) who can better diagnose your condition.

A chiropractor, especially a chiro who has a specialty in upper cervical issues, would be helpful.
