New Face Saying Hello

Hello! I've already made my first post in the PN threads, but I figured I could at least give a more formal hello here. I've been lurking and reading through various threads in here, most often the PN threads, and reading up on as much as I can for my particular predicament with my 47-year-old mother's neuropathy/forgetfulness.

I've learned so so much from you all, particularly MelodyL and mrsD, and I primarily wanted to make an account to see how they were faring as of right now and hopefully tell them my thanks (as I could not look at their accounts or PM them without an account), but couldn't for a week or so because of an error I kept getting trying to accept the terms. When I finally managed to make my account last night, I headed straight for both of their accounts, starting with mrsD.

It was very depressing to hear that life has not been treating her so well, with the blood clot and the stroke. I have no idea how she's doing right now, and she likely won't come back based on how long ago the last update on her status, but I hope the rest of her years are happy and pain-free, I really do.

And then to see MelodyL not doing much better either really got me feeling down. That her one of her own friends would act so cruel to her after her husband passed tears me up. It's just awful, and I'm hoping the rest of her years are much better than they've been for her recently.

That's not to undercut the help that I've gotten from anyone else, it's just...those 2 were the ones I got the most help from the most frequently via reading their posts. I appreciate this forum and everyone in it with every fiber in my being.

Sorry this greeting had to get so heavy-hearted, but considering how helpful this place has been for me I felt it wouldn't be right to pretend that I'm not emotionally impacted by the fact that the people I've gotten the most help from aren't doing so great nowadays...!

Hello SoulfulYin,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups. :Wave-Hello:

Yes, there are many who are missed here. A lot has happened during the past 15 years and there's a wealth of information in all of the forums.

Don't forget to also look after yourself as well as your Mother.
take care,
Lara

p.s. neat screen name.
