neuropathic pain vs neuropathy/are they different?
I do not have true neruopathy-I have neuropathic pain in my feet and legs from prolotherapy shots tha inflamed my nerves it seems permanently. I amm in so much pain I cannot walk 20 feet without knifing, stabbing pain up my whole half of body so i am bed bound unless i want to be tortured. I still have the tingling, the burning and pain-so do i belong in this group, or what?

Hi Steff:
Hey, in my book, you have neuropathic pain, so that qualifies as neuropathy. So welcome and keep posting. We need all the information we can get from various people who have various causes and various symtoms. Have you tried the Methyl B-12 yet?. You never know, it might help. I take 5000 each morning. Best thing I ever did. Melody |

neuropathy
I know what caused it-i had foot surgeries that caused some kind of buzzing in my legs but nobody EVER AFTER 20 EVER CALLED IT NEUROPATHY. everyone said that it was fibro-which i have too. in an effort to reduce the foot pain, i had prolotherapy injections in my feet and that caused this unbearable pain that has ruined my life. i could have gone on forever like i was, but silly me, i thought i might make myself a little better. now i am an invalid from those shots. they inflamed my entire half of my body from my waist to my toes.
so i know i am not lacking in any vits, or have another disease(but will get one or more soon not moving) i know what caused it-nobody knows how to help it, except to make a zombie out of me. if you think taking something would clean me up, i'll try anything- i am sure i have central pain syndrome now too. steff |
Have you tried a TENS machine ?http://www.mydr.com.au/default.asp?article=4198
You have damaged peripheral nerves so you belong here, doesn't matter the cause. |
Yeah Hon.
And get some Methyl B-12. Might take a while, but it does repair the nerves. I'm a walking advertisement for Methyl B-12. Now do I still get burning?? Yeah, anytime my son calls me and my whole body starts spasming. It's how my body reacts to stress. And if the weather is nuts outside, before a big storm. Yeah, my whole body feels like ants are crawling on it. Doesn't last long, only a few minutes. But I'm a whole lot better than I was 4 months ago before I started the Methyl B-12. So I take it absolutely every day. Melody |
Steff,
I have supposed PN and radiculopathy and they are both different processes. Anyway, and just recently, my Neurologist changed the diagnosis from PN to Central Pain Syndrome based on my history. In any case, neuropathic pain all the same. I am not deficient in B-12 at all. Actually, I am not deficient in anything and all tests were negative. I think mine was brought on by surgeries. So, I take the meds and do not take supplements. |
The cause probably is not B12 deficiency, but how were you tested?
